Raghuvanshi pushed the ball towards mid-on and tried to take a quick single. His partner sent him back and while he returned to the crease the throw from the field hit Raghuvanshi. The fielder, Mohammed Shami made a legal appeal for obstructing the field situation.

The on-field umpire asked the third umpire to check because he lacked certainty about the situation. The third umpire determined that Raghuvanshi changed his running line to block the throw after watching the replays. He received an obstructing the field rule dismissal.

The ruling was not well taken by the players of KKR team. Some players were seen to look shocked. Raghuvanshi went away with clear signs of distress written on his face. He showed his displeasure by slamming his bat on the ground and removing his helmet. The crucial wicket was lost for KKR team at this vital juncture of the game.
