Match Summary - Yesterday's IPL Match Between LSG vs KKR

 

Kolkata Knight Riders struggled with the ball as they collapsed early but recovered to post 155/7. It was Mohsin Khan who put KKR into great difficulty by picking up 5 wickets and at one point KKR was tottering at 73/6. Rinku Singh's magnificent knock under pressure, where he scored an unbeaten 83 off 51 deliveries kept KKR's hopes alive by getting them a competitive total. The other highlight was the first obstructed the field dismissal of IPL 2026 to see Angkrish Raghuvanshi dismissed and making the contest a memorable one.

 

At one stage LSG would have comfortably reached chased the target but a collapse in the final stages made things difficult for the home side. Earlier in the innings, Aiden Markram and Rishabh Pant tried to stabilize the chase as Pant smashed 42 but they kept losing wickets at regular intervals due to superb bowling from Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy. With 17 runs needed off the last over, LSG managed to level the scores with the help of a last ball six from Mohammed Shami taking the match to a Super Over.

 

The Super Over saw Sunil Narine scalp 2 crucial wickets and leaking just one run and giving the opposition the pressure of defening a next to impossible target. KKR secured the win with the help of Rinku Singh who smashed a boundary on the first ball to hand his side a memorable win over LSG which continued their losing streak. Rinku Singh was awarded Player of the match for his all-round performance.
