Now you do not need to go to Dhaba, because you can easily prepare the same taste in your kitchen. By using just a few special tricks and the right spices, your Matar Paneer will become so delicious that even guests will not be left without asking for its recipe.



  • 200 grams paneer (cut into cubes)

  • 1 cup green peas

  • 2 large onions (finely chopped)

  • 2 tomatoes (make puree)

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

  • salt as per taste

  • 1/2 cup cream or milk

  • Green coriander (for garnish)


How to make Matar Paneer


It is very easy to make the delicious Matar Paneer curry from Dhaba. First of all, heat some oil in a pan and fry the paneer pieces until they become light golden. This improves both the taste and texture of the cheese.


Now add cumin seeds in the same pan. When cumin starts crackling, add onion and fry till it turns golden. After this add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.


Now add tomato puree and cook well until the oil starts separating. Then add turmeric, red chilli, coriander powder and salt and fry the spices well.


Now add peas to it and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add cheese and mix gently so that the cheese does not break. Now add some water to it and cook for 5-7 minutes.


Finally add cream and garam masala. This will make the gravy thick and rich and will taste exactly like a dhaba. Garnish with green coriander and serve with hot roti, naan or jeera rice.
