Prachi Nigam, once trolled for facial hair, scores 91.20% in Class 12 and continues to shine academically
Prachi Nigam , a young girl from Uttar Pradesh, who came into limelight when she topped the boards exams in Class 10, has yet again proved her mettle in the academic field with her brilliant performance in the Class 12 exams scoring 91.20%. The student, who comes from Sitapur district, has proven that she loves studying without being afraid of any criticisms that she has faced before.
In her Class 12 exam, Prachi has performed exceptionally well in several subjects including Mathematics in which she secured 99%, Hindi 96%, Chemistry 95%, and Physics 93%. However, English is her weak area, and hence she scored only 73 marks in it.
According to reports in Live Hindustan, Prachi stated that she was preparing for the engineering entrances like JEE and thus it might be one of the reasons for her poor performance in English. She has always been aiming to become an engineer in one of the best IITs in the country.
Prachi initially garnered national fame in 2024 when she came first in the class 10 UP Board exams, scoring an outstanding 591 marks out of 600. Nevertheless, as she received accolades, she also got trolled online because of her facial hair.
In response to this criticism that she faced at the time, Prachi stated that "After the announcement of results in UP, there was an outburst of trolling. While there were people who trolled me, there were also people who supported me. I thank everybody."
Furthermore, she also went on to say that “But however God has made me, I am fine with it. It does not make any difference even if you think that there is a difference because Chanakya too had been trolled but he didn’t care, neither do I.”
In another interaction with BBC, Prachi reflected on the attention she received, saying, “If I had a few fewer marks, I would not have topped and got famous. Maybe that would have been better. I don’t care much about the situation because I have been facing this for a long time. People see girls with hair and feel weird about it because they have not seen this before.”
Prachi Nigam’s life is still an example for many people, both because of her accomplishments and the level of resilience and determination she demonstrated through the process. As she progresses towards achieving her goals, she serves as an example for others that determination matters more than reputation.
