Bollywood actor Kajol has opened up about generational differences and her parenting experiences with her daughter Nysa Devgan during a recent appearance on a podcast hosted by Lily Singh.

Known for her candid interviews, Kajol discussed the challenges she faced while raising her daughter and reflected on how communication evolved over time within their relationship.

Kajol spoke about Generation Z growing up in a highly digital and information-heavy environment. She suggested that while younger people are aware of right and wrong, they often struggle with decision-making due to information overload.

The actor admitted that her relationship with her daughter went through a difficult phase during Nysa’s teenage years, describing it as emotionally challenging for both of them.

She said that both mother and daughter experienced misunderstandings and emotional conflicts, particularly during Nysa’s early teenage years, when communication gaps widened.

Kajol noted that she had to consciously step back and adopt a more patient and rational approach as a parent.

Reflecting on the experience, she shared that one of her biggest realizations was the importance of listening rather than instructing.

According to her, giving her daughter space to express herself made a significant difference in improving their bond over time.

Kajol emphasized that parenting is not always about giving direct guidance but about understanding and supporting children as they grow into their own decisions.

She concluded that her most important lesson was learning to be present and listen more actively, rather than trying to control outcomes.

Kajol has been married to actor Ajay Devgn since 1999, and the couple has two children, Nysa and Yug.
