In a lopsided showdown, Royal Challengers Bengaluru cruised to a commanding nine-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in Match 39 of the Indian Premier League 2026, held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, April 27.

After being asked to bat first, DC faced a shocking collapse, getting bowled out for a mere 75 runs in just 16.3 overs. Their top order fell apart during the powerplay, managing a paltry 13 runs, as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood tore through the batting lineup.

Bhuvneshwar made his mark early, claiming the wicket of debutant Sahil Parakh for a duck with a perfectly executed inswinging yorker, while Hazlewood's impressive four-wicket haul dismantled the middle order. Abishek Porel was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 30 runs, and a brief partnership with David Miller provided a glimmer of hope, but the innings never truly recovered from the early onslaught.

In response, RCB made quick work of the chase, reaching 77/1 in just 6.3 overs. Jacob Bethell set the tone with some aggressive batting before getting out, but Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal then formed an unbroken partnership to comfortably finish the match. This emphatic win also gave RCB a nice boost in their net run rate.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru showcased their dominance with both bat and ball, securing an easy win over Delhi Capitals. A stellar bowling display followed by a swift chase ensured a comfortable victory, enhancing their standing in the points table.
