Back in 2023, Keanu Reeves starred in John Wick Chapter 4 opposite Donnie Yen's Caine.

The latter's blind High Table assassin, an old friend of Wick's, was forced out of retirement to kill him after being blackmailed over his daughter's safety.

Fans will remember it was Caine who appeared to fatally shoot Wick, although we never saw a body, just a grave.

And given that John Wick 5 is in the works with Reeves involved, we'd assume he's probably out there somewhere biding his time for a return.

In the meantime, Reeves reprised the role in Ana de Armas 2025 spin-off Ballerina, which was set between John Wick 3 and 4. And now Caine is getting his own movie ahead of John Wick 5 and John Wick 0.

The Caine movie was teased in John Wick 4's end credits scene, with the blind hitman retiring to Paris to reunite with his daughter, only to be approached by Akira, wielding a knife in revenge. Earlier in the movie at the Osaka Continental, Caine reluctantly killed the manager Koji, who was attacking him on Wick's behalf, but spared his daughter Akira. Rina Sawayama, who played the latter, reprises the role in From the World of John Wick: Caine, which has just started production.

Alongside starring as Caine, Yen is directing and came up with the original story with four-time John Wick director Chad Stahelski. Most of the upcoming film is set in Europe with additional scenes in Hong Kong and takes place after John Wick 4, as teased in the end credits. The teaser trailer, which announced the start of production, features Caine's cane that turns into a sword.

If that wasn't enough, there's news of two more John Wick movies.

Lionsgate boss Adam Fogelson recently spoken with Business Insider where he confirmed that the Caine film and the upcoming animated John Wick prequel (featuring Reeves' voice acting) will both release before John Wick 5. The latter remains in early development with a core idea conceived by both Reeves and Stahelski.
