Apart from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Haryana, most parts of North India got some relief from the scorching heat on Monday evening, but this relief lasted only for a short time. Even after a slight drop in the temperature, the night was not a respite for the people due to hot winds.
The Indian Meteorological Department estimates that there may soon be rain with thunderstorm in Delhi-NCR. However, no major change has been seen in the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR in 24 hours, but a drop of 1 to 3 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the minimum temperature.
The Meteorological Department estimates that today Tuesday (April 28) is going to give some respite from the heat to the people of Delhi. Delhi will remain partly cloudy today with light rain or drizzle expected as the day progresses. Along with this, strong winds along with thunderstorms may occur today. There is expected to be no major change in the temperature of Delhi in the coming days, but a drop of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius may be seen.
According to the Meteorological Department, in the next 2 hours, in Narela, Bawana, Alipur, Kanjhawala, Rohini, Mundaka, Jafarpur, Najafgarh areas of Delhi, Bahadurgarh of NCR, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Narwana, Karnal, Fatehabad, Rajound, Assandh, Safidon, Barwala, Jind, Panipat, Adampur, Hisar, Gohana, Ganaur, Hansi, Dust storm with rain/drizzle and lightning (strong winds of 40-60 km/h) is expected in Meham, Sonipat, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhel, Jhajjar areas. Similar weather is expected in Gangoh, Shamli, Kandhla, Baraut, Baghpat, Khekra of Uttar Pradesh, Bhadra of Uttar Pradesh and light rain with lightning followed by dust storm in Rajasthan. Strong winds with a speed of 40-60 km/h are expected.
According to IMD, the minimum temperature of Delhi is expected to be between 26 to 28 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be between 41 to 43 degrees Celsius. The wind speed is expected to be 30–50 km/hour during the day. Today the sky is likely to be partly cloudy, which is likely to turn into dense clouds later and there is a possibility of strong winds and light rain in some areas. In view of the rising temperatures and heatwave, the Meteorological Department has advised people to exercise caution. To avoid dehydration, people have been asked to wear cotton clothes and keep their heads covered.
