New Delhi. Aadhaar card is no longer just a document but has become the foundation of our digital identity. But if the date of birth recorded in Aadhaar is wrong and the update request is being rejected again and again, then there is no need to panic. Unique Identification Authority of India i.e. UIDAI has now presented a concrete solution to this.
Why is your update request being rejected?
According to UIDAI rules, a person can change the date of birth in Aadhaar only once in his lifetime. If this limit has already been used then the normal online process will not work. Apart from this, submitting invalid documents is also a major reason for rejection.
File complaint in these ways while sitting at home
If your request has been rejected, you can get help in three easy ways. You can register your problem directly by calling UIDAI’s toll-free number 1947. with your documents (email protected) You can send an email to UIDAI or register a complaint by visiting the official Grievance Portal of UIDAI and track its status.
If the limit is reached then follow this special procedure
If the only limit for changing the date of birth has been reached then the process of exception handling will have to be adopted. First of all go to the nearest Aadhaar center and lodge a new update request with valid documents. This will give you an update request number i.e. URN. Email or personally contact your regional office with this URN. If the documents are found correct, Aadhaar will be updated under special permission.
Work will be done with these documents, keep them ready
Among the documents recognized by UIDAI, the birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation is considered the most reliable. Apart from this, Indian passport, PAN card or mark sheet of recognized board is also valid. Keep in mind that after the recent changes, Aadhaar card will no longer be accepted as full proof of date of birth everywhere so it has become even more important to keep it correct.
