New Delhi/Dehradun: The journey between Delhi and Dehradun has now been reduced to just 2.5 hours, but you will have to pay a hefty price for this speed. Toll collection has now officially started on this 210 km long expressway, after being inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14 April 2026. NHAI has announced the toll rates, due to which traveling on this route has now become costlier than before.
Toll rates have been kept very high for private cars and SUVs on this expressway starting from Akshardham in Delhi and going to Dehradun.
One-way journey: Car drivers to get closer to Delhi to Dehradun ₹670 to ₹675 Toll will have to be paid up to Rs.
Return within 24 hours (Round Trip): If you return within 24 hours, you will receive approx. ₹1,010 Have to pay.
Toll-free part: The initial part from Akshardham to Loni border has been kept toll-free at present.
The toll burden is even higher for heavy and commercial vehicles:

Near a particular part of the expressway i.e. Saharanpur Ganeshpur Elevated Road But separate toll is being collected.
Here cars are allowed only for 12 km elevated patch. ₹150 (one way) and on return ₹225 Have to give.
After this, there is a separate charge of ₹ 85 for cars at Chamri Kheda toll plaza also.
NHAI has also made provision for some concessions for those who frequently use this route:
Annual Pass: For frequent travelers ₹3,000 Annual Fastag pass has been issued, which can provide a lot of savings.
Local Pass: For local residents living within 20 km radius of toll plaza ₹350 per month Special pass available.
Monthly Pass: A pass with 50 single journeys for ₹4,985 has also been made available for regular commuters.
Despite high toll rates, this expressway is saving huge time and fuel. Whereas on the old route (NH-7) it used to take 5-6 hours, now people are reaching Dehradun directly by bypassing the jam-packed areas like Muzaffarnagar and Roorkee. Also, built over Rajaji National Park Asia’s largest wildlife corridor, 12 km long Makes this journey even more special.
