Punjab. The court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajinder Singh Nagpal, Mansa, has ordered Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to appear in person on May 1. A case was filed against CM Mann on behalf of former Mansa MLA Nazar Singh Manshahia (Former MLA of Mansa). It is alleged that after leaving the party in July 2019, during a press conference held in Sangrur, the Chief Minister had made objectionable comments against him, due to which the matter reached the court.
According to the information, in the last hearing, the Chief Minister’s application to appear through video medium was rejected by the court and he was asked to appear in person on April 28. However, even on Tuesday he could not appear in the court due to urgent commitments. The court has adopted a strict stance and made it clear that even on the next date, if they do not appear, their bail can be cancelled.
