Tezzbuzz Desk- After his brilliant performance in IPL 2026, South Africa’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen has once again come into the news for his return to international cricket. Now the question has become acute in the cricket world regarding Clausen, who retired at the age of just 33, whether he can return to the field for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Classen’s consistently strong performance in IPL 2026 has further intensified this debate. So far he has scored 414 runs in 9 innings, in which his average is 59.14 and strike rate is 157.41. During this period, he has also scored 4 half-centuries and remains firmly in the race for the Orange Cap.

Seeing his form, former England captain Kevin Pietersen has given great advice to the South African Cricket Board. He said that the board should talk to Clausen about coming out of retirement, because he can prove to be a game changer for the team in the upcoming World Cup. Pietersen also said that South Africa has not won any ODI World Cup so far, so such a combination of experience and form can be very important for the team.

On the other hand, former legendary batsman AB de Villiers has also praised Clausen highly. He said that in IPL 2026, Clausen is giving tough competition to the opening batsmen and tremendous consistency is being seen in his batting. De Villiers said that Clason is playing according to the conditions even under pressure and this is his biggest strength.

Looking at Clausen’s current form, the discussion has intensified among cricket fans and experts whether he can actually retire from international cricket and make a comeback in the 2027 World Cup. However, no official statement has come out from the player or the cricket board on this yet.

At present, Clason has been in the news for his performances in the IPL and if this form continues then the speculations about his international comeback may become even stronger.
