Jayasuriya’s record broken

With his century, Rickelton took the record of scoring the fastest century for Mumbai Indians. He broke the 18-year-old record of Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya, who had scored a century in 45 balls in 2008. Tilak Verma also scored a century in 45 balls in the same season, but Rickelton went ahead of him. Rickelton made three important partnerships for the team during his innings. With Will Jacques, he added 93 runs for the first wicket and gave the team a fast start. After this, he made a partnership of 55 runs with Naman Dheer and 56 runs with captain Hardik Pandya. Thanks to these partnerships, Mumbai Indians scored a huge score of 243/5 in 20 overs. The team had scored 78 runs in the powerplay itself, which created pressure on the opposition team.
