The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has reached its halfway point, with the tournament now getting heated up for the final four. The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals (RR) prodigy, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, is currently leading the run-scorer chart with 400 runs in 9 matches. Rajasthan Royals recently defeated the Punjab Kings–the only unbeaten team–to retain their fourth spot in the points.
It was a brilliant showdown from the RR batters. However, Vaibhav came into the limelight after playing a thunderous knock against PBKS. He regained his Orange Cap after smashing 43 runs off just 16 deliveries. In a humorous clip going viral on social media, RR’s social media team asked him if he had any ‘AI chip’ installed on his bat. The 15-year-old batter gave an innocent reply that there is nothing like an AI chip, but god has given the talent, and it’s all about the hard work.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi said:
“Bhagwan ne laga ke diya hai. Upar he bola tha ki bat mein tumhare kuch laga ke de raha hu, ussi ka istemal kar raha hu (God has put something in the bat. He had already said from above that I’m giving you something in your bat — I’m just using that).”

For those who don’t know, Sooryavanshi’s response came in reply to the question asked by the Pakistani cricket expert Nouman Niaz, who had asked to check Vaibhav’s bat for any chip installed on it.
The 15-year-old RR opener jumped to the top of the Orange Cap holder’s list after his 43-run knock against PBKS. At just the age of 15, this Samastipur-born batter has no intentions of slowing down, smashing and breaking every record in his second edition of IPL.
The Rajasthan Royals defeated the Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in their previous game. They became the first team to defeat PBKS this season, who were riding high on their performance and were unbeaten until then. RR is sitting in the fourth spot with 12 points collected from 6 wins in 9 games.
