Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 examination, new arrangements have been implemented with a focus on candidate security and transparency. In particular, the guidelines issued regarding biometric verification have alleviated a major concern among students.
The NTA has released new guidelines for the NEET UG 2026 examination, making biometric verification mandatory. This step has been taken to make the examination process more secure and transparent, thereby preventing any form of malpractice or fraud.
Under the new system, all candidates must undergo a biometric check before entering the examination center. This involves verifying the candidate's identity through fingerprints or other identification procedures. This process is considered crucial for maintaining the fairness and integrity of the examination.
However, the agency has also clarified that if, for any reason, a technical issue arises during the biometric verification process, candidates will not be barred from taking the exam. Alternative arrangements have been devised to account for situations such as machine malfunctions, network connectivity issues, or data mismatches.
In such instances, candidates will be required to fill out a written undertaking confirming their identity and their participation in the examination. This form will be made available directly at the examination center; once completed, the candidate will be granted entry into the examination hall.
The NTA has also given assurances that no student will be disturbed for biometric procedures once the examination has commenced. The exam will be conducted according to the scheduled time without any interruptions, ensuring that students can maintain their full concentration on the paper.
Through these new guidelines, the agency aims to ensure that all candidates receive equal opportunities and that their future is not jeopardized by any technical glitches. Furthermore, this measure will serve to further bolster the credibility and reliability of the examination process.
