Noida. On the initiative of Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, a major step has been taken regarding fire safety in high-rise buildings of Noida and Greater Noida. MLA Pankaj Singh had raised this issue in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on February 16. While raising the question, he had stressed the need for modern equipment to prevent incidents like fire in high-rise buildings. He had demanded from the government that modern resources should be immediately made available to Noida Fire Brigade, so that quick and effective action can be taken in any emergency.
The government gave purchase instructions to the authorities
Taking cognizance of the demand of the MLA, the government issued instructions to Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority to purchase necessary equipment. According to the government letter, the procurement process of hydraulic platform reaching 72 meters height, robotic fire system, foam tender, large water bowser, rescue cutter, proximity suit, breathing set and other modern fire fighting equipment was started. Along with this, the process of purchasing two hydraulic platforms reaching 102 meters height has also been taken forward.
Big decision taken in 222nd board meeting
Following the order of the government, the 222nd board meeting of Noida Authority was held on 06 April 2026 in the authority auditorium under the chairmanship of Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh and Chairman of Noida Authority, Deepak Kumar. The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officers of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority and other members.
Rs 154.42 crore will be spent
In the meeting, an important decision was taken to release a total of Rs 154.42 crore for the purchase/construction of vehicles, machines and modern equipment for the fire stations of Noida area, keeping in mind the multi-storey buildings, industrial structures of Gautam Buddha Nagar district, possible fire, rescue operations and disaster management due to the area being in Seismic Zone-4. This decision of the state government is being considered as a big step towards the safety of lakhs of residents of Noida and Greater Noida. This will make relief and rescue operations more effective in case of fire, earthquake and other emergencies.
