8th Pay Commission Latest Update: There is a relief news for central employees and pensioners. Actually, the 8th Pay Commission has extended the last date for submission of memorandum from 30th April to 1st May. The Commission has taken this step considering the demand of the National Council for Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM). With this decision of the Commission, different organizations will get more time to present their demands.
The Pay Commission has changed the time for submitting the memorandum, but has made the rules strict regarding the method of submission. Now all suggestions can be made only through the online link provided by the Commission. Apne has clarified that suggestions sent through paper-based memorandum, hard copy, PDF or email will not be considered. Authorized nodal officers of Ministries, Departments and Union Territories can give their suggestions online in a prescribed structured format.
The National Council for Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM) met Commission Chairperson Ranjana Prakash Desai on Tuesday. Many employee organizations had said that some organizations and pensioners associations were facing difficulties in submitting suggestions online. This extension has been given after the important meeting of the Pay Commission held in Delhi between April 28 and April 30. However, increasing this deadline may delay the final decision on fitment factor due to which employees may have to wait longer to get the increased salary.
This time, the focus of central employees and pensioners is mostly on the fitment factor, which plays a major role in increasing their salary and pension. NC-JCM has demanded 3.83 fitment factor from the new pay commission. If this is accepted, the basic salary may increase from the current Rs 18,000 to Rs 69,000.
Apart from this, there is also emphasis on annual increment. The memorandum demands a 6 percent annual salary increase. At the time of promotion, a minimum benefit of ₹ 10,000 from two additional increments and gratuity equal to one month’s salary has also been demanded.
After the new deadline for submission of memorandum ends on May 31, 8th pay commission Will begin analyzing all suggestions and data. During this process, the Commission will consider the demands sent through the online portal by various employee unions, ministries and nodal officers of Union Territories, especially the proposals like fitment factor of 3.83 and increasing the basic salary to Rs 69,000.
After this process the chairperson of the commission Ranjana Prakash Desai The panel will hold further rounds of discussions with key stakeholders to strike a balance between the financial burden and the needs of employees. Finally, the Commission will submit its detailed report and recommendations to the Central Government, on the basis of which the Cabinet will take the final decision on salary increase and allowances and decide the time frame for their implementation.
