Bow Echo will go up against 14 rivals in his bid for glory in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday. The three-year-old, trained by George Boughey, is the early favourite for success following a stellar juvenile campaign in 2025. He will look to give jockey Billy Loughnane a debut Classic victory but faces a tough test on the Rowley Mile.
He will be rivalled by Gstaad, who is Aiden O'Brien's sole runner after Puerto Rico, Causeway and Flushing Meadows were removed at the final declarations. The horse was mistakenly scratched last month but was supplemented for the race on Monday at a cost of £30,000. Elsewhere, Karl Burke pulled Hankelow while Francis-Henri Graffard removed Samangan, as expected.
Charlie Appleby saddles a two-strong team as he eyes a third successive triumph at the 2,000 Guineas, with last year's winning jockey William Buick partnering Distant Storm. Avicenna, trained by Roger Varian, will also represent owners Godolphin.
Craven Stakes winner Oxagon will also be involved alongside Alparslan, who won the Greenham Stakes last month. There is also hope that King's Trail will put the cat amongst the pigeons, having won both starts on the all-weather.
Into The Sky and Padraig Dawn, for Jim Boyle and Charlie Pike respectively, are joined by Thesecretadversary and Power Blue, who finished in the top two in a key Guineas trial at Leopardstown, in the 15-strong field.
The 2,000 Guineas is one of Britain's five Classic events and is the first to be run each year. It also serves as the opening leg of the Triple Crown, followed by the Derby and the St Leger.
