Synopsis

Air India has launched a new five-times-a-week non-stop flight connecting Delhi and Hanoi, marking its inaugural direct service to Vietnam's capital. This expansion, utilizing Airbus A320neo aircraft, enhances travel options between India and Vietnam, offering flexibility for multi-city itineraries and connecting passengers to Europe and the UK via Delhi.

Air India on Friday launched a new five-times-a-week non-stop flight between Delhi and Hanoi, marking its first direct service to Vietnam’s capital. The inaugural flight AI2390 departed Delhi at 1:20 am (IST) and arrived at Noi Bai International Airport at 7:20 am local time. Officials from the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, airport authorities and airline staff received the flight on arrival.

With this launch, Hanoi becomes Air India’s second destination in Vietnam after Ho Chi Minh City and its eighth in Southeast Asia. The new route adds to the airline’s existing daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City and is expected to improve travel options between India and Vietnam.

The airline said the service allows passengers to plan multi-city travel by flying into Hanoi and returning from Ho Chi Minh City, or the other way around. This arrangement is aimed at both leisure and business travellers seeking flexibility in their itineraries.

The Delhi-Hanoi route will be operated using Airbus A320neo aircraft. The planes have three cabin classes—Business, Premium Economy and Economy—offering full-service travel options.

Air India also said the service will provide connections for passengers travelling between Vietnam and Europe or the United Kingdom through its Delhi hub.

“Vietnam has rapidly evolved into a high-potential market for Indian travellers, supported by strong leisure demand, growing business exchanges and rising interest in multi-city holidays. With Hanoi joining our network alongside Ho Chi Minh City, we are creating more choice, greater convenience and stronger connectivity between the two countries as well as enabling traffic between Europe and Vietnam,” Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, said.

The flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Flight AI2390 will depart Delhi at 1:20 am and arrive in Hanoi at 7:20 am. The return flight AI2391 will leave Hanoi at 8:20 am and reach Delhi at 11:35 am.
