There’s an active recall on a popular dessert sold at Aldi locations in seven states, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to a potential foreign matter contamination.
The dessert being recalled is Specially Selected brand’s Vanilla Crème Brûlée packaged in 3.6-ounce glass jars. The recalled jars contain product number “710298-4099100342826,” UPC “4099100342826,” a use-by date of May 9, 2026, and were sold in the following states: Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York and Virginia.
These crème brûlée products are being recalled because they may contain pieces of glass, posing an injury and illness risk for consumers. Check your refrigerator, and if you have the recalled dessert on hand, dispose of it or return it to your local Aldi for a refund.
This recall has been classified as Class II, meaning that eating the affected product may lead to temporary, non-severe health problems. For questions about this recall, call the FDA at 1-888-INFO-FDA (1-888-463-6332).
