Ghotache Sasava curry made with mango, fresh coconut and some spices is a traditional and popular Konkani dish of Goa. This curry is sweet, sour in taste and has a delightful nutty flavor with mild spices. This is a great comfort dish for summer, which is made from ripe mangoes. Actually, in Konkani language, Ghota means wild, pitted ripe mango. These are very sweet and juicy mangoes. So Saasav means mustard seeds. In this, apart from coconut, mustard is especially used, hence its name is Ghotache Saasav.
Ghotache Saasav or Mango Saasav is a dish which is made without garlic and onion and it does not take much time to prepare it. It is ready in about 30 minutes. Ghotache Sasaw curry tastes amazing with hot rice. So let's see this curry recipe shared by actress Sameera Reddy.
Ghotta (wild mango/you can use normal small ripe mango if you want), fresh grated coconut, coriander, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt (as per taste), curry leaves, mustard seeds, oil, water as required.
