Veteran actor Neetu Kapoor is busy promoting her film Daadi Ki Shaadi, which was released in theaters on Friday. The film also marks her daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahani's Bollywood debut. During most of the promotions, she was seen with the cast, which also includes Kapil Sharma. During the promotional events, Neetu was also seen grooving with Ranbir Kapoor and was seen throughout enjoying herself.
In many clips shared by paparazzi, she was also seen interacting warmly with them and posing from different angles. Neetu's unfiltered and lively chatter with the paps impressed netizens.
However, Neetu Kapoor also faced flak from netizens for going all out during promotions. Many were of the view that Neetu Kapoor, after her husband Rishi Kapoor's death, had become much more socially active and visible in public.
Neetu Kapoor shares why she got back to work after Rishi Kapoor's death
During a conversation with Soha Ali Khan on her YouTube show All About Her, Neetu opened up about the trolling she faced for working after Rishi Kapoor's demise and also revealed why she chose to return to work.
Neetu Kapoor said, "I just started working. He passed away, and I did JugJugg Jeeyo. I just went to work to get the confidence back. I was in such a bad state, and it was so hurtful when people used to say ke 'ohh he passed away, and she jumped into work. That was horrible. But they don't know why I did it."
She added, "I have to tell you what happened to me. When he passed away, I couldn't sleep for a month or two, and I got into drinking. I used to start drinking, and then I could not sleep without drinking."
Neetu Kapoor said she was in a phase where she did not like herself. She called her doctor and asked for help. Neetu added that a doctor used to come to her house at around 11 pm every night and inject her so she could sleep. This continued for 10 days, and on the 11th or 12th day, she called the doctor and said she was feeling better and could move on.
She went on to say, "But I needed to get out. I spoke to Karan(Karan Johar), and he asked me to get back to work."
Work Front
Neetu Kapoor had started working a year after her husband, actor Rishi Kapoor's death. She was last seen in Dharma Productions' JugJugg Jeeyo. She later signed a few more projects and also featured in multiple advertisements. After Daadi Ki Shaadi, Neetu Kapoor also has another film lined up titled Letters To Mr. Khanna.
