Patna, 7 May. In Bihar, the cabinet of the government led by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has been expanded. In the grand swearing-in ceremony held in the capital Patna on Thursday, 32 MLAs, including former CM Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar, took the oath of office and secrecy.

Apart from Vijay Kumar Sinha, who was the Deputy CM with Samrat in the previous government, Nishant Kumar, Dilip Jaiswal, Shravan Kumar, Ram Kripal Yadav, Nitish Mishra, Damodar Rawat, Sanjay Singh ‘Tiger’, Ashok Chaudhary and Leshi Singh etc. took oath as ministers.

Nishant will take over Nitish’s legacy

The most notable fact of the cabinet expansion was that Nishant Kumar has now been actively associated with the Bihar government. Engineering graduate Nishant entered politics when Nitish Kumar decided to leave the post of Chief Minister of Bihar and become a member of Rajya Sabha.

Actually, the leaders and workers of Janata Dal United (JDU) wanted to see Nishant in the government, but he initially refused to accept any post, because he wanted to establish his identity as a party worker.

These MLAs also took oath

Other MLAs who took oath as ministers include Madan Sahni, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Arun Shankar Prasad, Santosh Kumar Suman, Rama Nishad, Ratnesh Sada, Kumar Shailendra, Sheela Kumar, Kedar Prasad Gupta, Lakhendra Kumar Roshan.

PM Modi and Home Minister were also present in the ceremony

Many prominent NDA leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, National President Nitin Naveen, BJP National General Secretary, Rajya Sabha MP and Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended the swearing-in ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan.

It is noteworthy that last month, JDU national president Nitish Kumar had resigned from the post of Chief Minister after being elected to the Rajya Sabha, after which the government was formed for the first time in Bihar under the leadership of BJP and Samrat Chaudhary took oath as the Chief Minister. Along with him, JDU’s Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary became Deputy Chief Ministers. Apart from BJP and JDU, Bihar NDA includes LJP (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
