Kathmandu- After the formation of the new government led by Balendra Shah in Nepal, strictness has been increased on the India-Nepal border. Now tourists and private vehicles will be allowed to enter Nepal only 30 times a year after paying Bhansar (custom duty). Heavy fines will also be imposed on vehicles crossing the limit of 30 times.
Nepal government has started the facility of QR code under the digital process of Bhansar. Through this, online records of all vehicles will now be maintained. Goods carriers have currently been given exemption under the new system.
Earlier Bhansar was imposed on goods having Indian value more than Rs 100 and goods without MRP were banned. Now digital monitoring of vehicles entering Nepal has been further increased. With this, vehicles entering more than 30 times will be easily identified.
According to the General Regulations-2071 of the Government of Nepal, it is illegal to drive on the roads of Nepal without permission. If caught, a fine and the vehicle can be confiscated. At present the daily fee has been fixed at 100 Nepali rupees for two-wheelers, 400 for three-wheelers and 600 for four-wheelers (car, jeep, van).
In the last few days, cases of Indian vehicles entering Nepal without permission had increased. This led to an increase in tax evasion, security threats and other illegal activities. Therefore, the Government of Nepal has decided to strictly enforce the rules of Bhansar and increase digital surveillance.
