Summer Health Tips in Hindi: The effect of extreme heat is clearly visible in the month of May. The body is struggling with the scorching sun, rising mercury and hot winds. There is a problem of lack of water in the body i.e. dehydration. This is causing problems like fatigue, weakness, headache, dizziness and heat stroke.


Nautapa is going to remain from 25th May to 2nd June. In view of this, the Ministry of AYUSH has shared a native recipe to keep the body hydrated and cool. The Ministry suggested many solutions, but the most talked about is drinking milk by mixing sugar in it. This will protect the body from heat and there will be no shortage of water.


What will happen if you mix sugar in milk and drink it?


In this scorching heat, water and essential minerals also come out from the body along with sweat. In such a situation, essential elements like calcium, potassium, protein and water found in milk give strength to the body. On the other hand, sugar provides instant energy to the body. This is why the Ministry of AYUSH has advised drinking sugar milk during summer. Especially, during the days of Nautapa when the risk of heatstroke is high, it can give some relief to the body.


Many doctors believe that cold milk helps in cooling the body from inside and can reduce weakness. Even in Ayurveda, milk is considered to keep the body calm. Consuming cold milk also provides relief from acidity.


Why is it important to keep yourself hydrated

In summer, due to sunlight and rising mercury, the body gets heated quickly. Therefore, drinking adequate amount of water keeps the body temperature balanced. The body cools itself through sweating, and hydration helps this process work better.

It is so dangerous that if it is not treated in time, it can even lead to death. Consuming the right amount of water and electrolytes reduces its risk.

When there is a balanced amount of water in the body, blood circulation also occurs well and the body gets adequate oxygen. This maintains freshness and energy throughout the day. Due to lack of water, a person feels tired quickly.



Easy ways to protect yourself from heat



  • Do not let there be shortage of water in the body. Keep drinking water at regular intervals without waiting until you feel thirsty.

  • Apart from this, keep consuming drinks like coconut water, lemon water, buttermilk and ORS from time to time.

  • Also keep eating seasonal fruits like watermelon, melon, cucumber and orange. They contain abundant amount of water, which is beneficial for the body.

  • Avoid caffeine and fried foods.

  • Do not go out in the sun on an empty stomach.

  • If it is necessary to go out in the sun, cover yourself well. Also carry a water bottle.

  • Wear cotton and light clothes in summer.
