Ahmedabad, May 30, 2026 – New Zealand The delegation visited various sports complexes in Ahmedabad and obtained information about sports facilities, their construction and utilization.


Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation A delegation of senior representatives of leading sports organizations of New Zealand visited Ahmedabad on May 29, 2026 as part of a visit to present the advanced sports infrastructure developed in the city by NDA at the international level and the sports infrastructure proposed for various large-scale multiple sports festival competitions to be held in India in the future.

The delegation, which is coming to India to evaluate various sports infrastructure facilities and hold discussions with officials of Gujarat Sports Infrastructure Development (GSID), includes senior representatives from leading sports organizations like Athletics New Zealand, Hockey New Zealand, Swimming New Zealand, Bowls New Zealand, and New Zealand Cricket.

The delegation includes senior representatives from various leading New Zealand sporting organisations. The Asia New Zealand Foundation delegation is being led by Kirsty Sharp. Erin Roxburgh, a leading role in women’s sport and deputy chair of Women in Sport, Australia, as well as a lecturer in sports management at Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington, are also part of the delegation. Apart from this, Athletics New Zealand’s National Development Manager Kirsten Kilmister, Bowls New Zealand’s Chief Executive Mark Cameron, Hockey New Zealand’s General Manager Simon Brill, Swimming New Zealand’s Chief Executive Steve Johannes and New Zealand Cricket’s Head of Commercial Development and Broadcast Thomas Fox are also included in the delegation.

As per the scheduled programme, the delegation met on 29th May, 2026 at 9:00 am in Ahmedabad. Riverfront Sports Park Had a visit. This program was coordinated by Mr. Amritesh ऑुरंगाबादकर, IAS, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (SRFDCL), Mr. Deepak Patel, General Manager (Admin- SRFDCL) and Mr. Sushant Bhatt, DGM (Marketing- SRFDCL). Then at 10:30 am the delegation visited Veer Savarkar Sports Complex located in Naranpura. Mr. Nileshkumar C. for this program. Patel, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Fire) and Shri Rushi Y. Pandya, Incharge City Engineer and Additional City Engineer (West Zone) coordinated the operations.


For this program, Mr. Akash Sathwara, Assistant Manager, from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation was appointed as the nodal officer, while from GSID, Mr. Anirudh Desai, District Sports Development Officer, Ahmedabad (City) was appointed as the nodal officer.
