There is growing optimism within Manchester United that Ederson will complete his move from Atalanta, although reports vary regarding the final transfer fee. The Premier League club has already matched the personal terms the Brazilian midfielder had agreed earlier with Atletico Madrid.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United expect to finalise the deal for a total sum between €40 and €45 million. Tuttomercatoweb, on the other hand, reports that the overall package could reach €48–50 million including add-ons, noting that discussions have taken place over a €45 million base fee plus performance-related bonuses.

Either valuation would mean a slight reduction from Atalanta’s initial €50 million asking price, while still providing the Italian club with a solid profit, given they paid €22.9 million to acquire Ederson from Salernitana in the summer of 2022.

Atalanta were seeking a much higher amount last year, but their stance has softened as the player’s contract runs until June 2027.

Manchester United were reportedly willing to offer a larger sum than Atletico Madrid to secure the 26-year-old Brazilian, who will turn 27 in July.
