Gujarat Titans (GT) leg spinner Rashid Khan has been ineffective in the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs. Rashid conceded 29 runs in 3 overs in Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Qualifier 1 and did not get any success. Qualifier 2 went even worse for them. Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsmen gave away 45 runs in 2 overs to Rashid. Rashid remained empty handed in this match also. However, despite poor performance in two consecutive matches, the RCB camp is scared of Rashid Khan before the final.

The title battle between GT and RCB is to take place shortly from now at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB is a strong contender to win this match but Rashid can spoil their game. Rashid, who has joined the greats of IPL at the age of just 27, has an excellent record against the important batsmen of RCB, seeing which the fans of the defending champion team are also worried.

Rashid can increase the problems of RCB

Rashid has dismissed Virat Kohli 3 times in T20 cricket. Both have faced each other 12 times so far in the shortest format of cricket, in which Kohli has scored 131 runs. Rashid has dominated against RCB’s number-3 Devdutt Padikkal. He has sent Padikkal to the pavilion 5 times in 9 innings in IPL. Whereas Tim David has been dismissed 3 times in 17 T20 innings. David has been able to score only 70 runs against him during this period.

GT will have these expectations from Rashid

Rashid had flopped badly last season. His performance has improved this season. Despite being empty handed in the last two matches, he is the highest wicket-taker spinner in IPL 2026. He has taken 19 wickets in 16 matches. Rashid has been very effective especially in the middle overs. He has taken 17 wickets in the phase of 7-15 overs, which is more than any other bowler. If Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj fail to take wickets in the powerplay of the title match, then GT will have hopes from Rashid to control the run rate and bring success to the team.
