Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has given such a statement on minorities, which has created an uproar in the politics of the state. He had come to Indore on Sunday to inaugurate development works worth about Rs 2.4 crore in an assembly constituency, here he said something, after which the minority community got angry with him.
Kailash Vijayvargiya said that those who call their representatives infidels should not walk on the roads built by them and should not take benefits of government schemes. Now people are saying how unconstitutional is such language from a public representative.
Kailash Vijayvargiya did not stop here. He said, ‘If we are infidels and the money from Ladli Behna and Ladli Lakshmi scheme is coming to your house, then don’t take that too.’
Kailash Vijayvargiya also said that the state government does not discriminate against any community. He described ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ as the basic mantra of the government. Kailash Vijayvargiya sarcastically said that whether you vote for us or not, our job is to serve the people.
Umang Singhar said, ‘This attitude of dividing the society in the context of words like Kafir is not appropriate for any responsible public representative. Using such language and indirect threats against the public regarding development works shows the arrogance of the government and linking the roads built with public taxes to a particular religion seems to expose BJP’s Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas model.
BJP supporters are praising his statement but secular people are criticizing this statement. People of the Muslim community have termed it communal, divisive and unfair. He argued that roads and schemes were built with taxpayers’ money, not personal ones, so all citizens had equal rights. After the statement went viral, a new debate has erupted on social media regarding Hindu-Muslim. People have called Kailash Vijayvargiya’s statement as Hindu appeasement.
