Mobile Earthquake Warning : The earthquake in Venezuela caused billions of dollars in damage and killed more than a million people. Natural disasters often occur so suddenly that there is no time for rescue. Despite technological advances, these disasters are often unavoidable. The biggest reason for this is the lack of timely information about these disasters. However, Google has developed a feature that will alert you shortly before an earthquake occurs. This information will reach you at lightning speed.
A fatality of earthquakes Earlier, Google sent information to mobile phones of people in Venezuela. Shortly before the earthquake in Venezuela, Google sent a notification to mobile users informing them of the distance to the disaster and the expected time of its arrival. Google said in its earthquake alert that the earthquake, measuring approximately 6.2 on the Richter scale, was 341 kilometers away. People shared screenshots of the notification on social media platform ‘X’ and said that Google has sent earthquake- information to every mobile phone.
Google’s earthquake alert service is unique, and after collecting data, it sends lightning-fast messages to people’s mobile phones. The service uses nearby smartphones to detect the speed and direction of earthquakes. As soon as an earthquake is alerted, it sends the information to a mobile phone at the speed of light. Google has a network of 2 billion mobile phones through which it collects earthquake data. It then sends two types of alerts: one for mild earthquakes and one for severe earthquakes.
Modern Mobile The phone has an accelerometer, which detects the movement of the smartphone. The screen is then converted to landscape mode and normal mode. This feature also detects vibrations and Google’s system uses this sensor to detect earthquakes and phone vibrations. This Google feature collects this data from millions of mobile phones and assesses whether these vibrations are earthquakes or mobile phones. Once an earthquake is detected, a message is sent at the speed of light to a nearby mobile phone.
