About Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust


The central government formed the 'Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust' to oversee the construction and management of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The trust comprises a total of 15 members, including revered saints, prominent citizens, and key administrative officials to lead the temple's operations.

Main and Permanent Members (Saints and Citizens)


1. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Ji Maharaj (Chairman): A renowned saint of Ayodhya and head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, who was elected as Chairman during the first meeting of the Trust.



2. Champat Rai (General Secretary): Vice President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and a long-time key strategist associated with the Ram Temple movement.



3. K. Parasaran (Founder Trustee): A senior Supreme Court lawyer who strongly represented Ram Lalla Virajman in court. He is also a former Attorney General of India.



4. Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj (Treasurer): A renowned spiritual guru from Maharashtra who oversees the financial and economic affairs of the Trust.



5. Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj: The Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth in Prayagraj.



6. Jagatguru Madhvacharya Swami Vishwa Prasannatirtha Ji Maharaj: The 33rd Peethadhishwar of the famous Pejavar Math located in Udupi, Karnataka.



7. Yugpurusha Paramananda Giri Ji Maharaj: Head of Akhand Ashram, Haridwar and a well-known scholar of Vedanta.



8. Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra: A descendant of the Ayodhya royal family and member of the Ramayana Fair Patronage Committee.


9. Dr Anil Kumar Mishra: A homoeopathic doctor from Ayodhya who has been associated with the RSS and the temple movement for decades.



10. Kameshwar Chaupal: A Dalit member from Patna, Chaupal laid the first brick during the temple's foundation stone ceremony in 1989.


11. Mahant Dinendra Das Ji: The chief representative of the Nirmohi Akhara, appointed to the trust in accordance with the Supreme Court's order.


12. Shri Krishna Gopal Ji (Nominated Trustee): An eminent person of the Hindu faith nominated as per the rules of the Trust.


Ex-Officio Members


13. Nripendra Mishra (Chairman of the Building Construction Committee): A retired senior IAS officer and former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, responsible for overseeing the technical and structural work of the temple construction.



14. Representative of the Central Government: An IAS officer of at least Joint Secretary rank, nominated by the Central Government.


15. Representative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh: A senior IAS officer of at least Secretary rank, nominated by the State Government. The District Magistrate (DM) of Ayodhya is also included as an ex officio member (if Hindu; otherwise, an Additional District Magistrate is appointed).
