On X, Tendulkar lauded Stokes for not only having a huge impact on England cricket as a captain but also as a player.

wrote Sachin Tendulkar:

"I've always loved the way you enter the field with a lot of enthusiasm. Your positive play, fearless attitude and how you created positive moments even when under pressure is always evident every time you entered the field. As an all-rounder you have been one of Englands best yet as a Captain your fearless tactics and on the spot decision making kept your team on the edge,"
