Aaryavir Sehwag: Aryaveer Sehwag, son of former India explosive batsman Virender Sehwag, recently played for the Indian Under-19 team against the Australia Under-19 team. Although he was unable to make a big innings in that series, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has now entrusted him with an important responsibility. Aryavir Sehwag has been appointed as the captain of the Delhi Under-19 men's team for the Vinu Mankad Trophy. DDCA has also announced the team.

DDCA announced squad for Vinu Mankad Trophy


After the DDCA Junior Men's Selection Committee meeting, the 16-member squad led by Aryaveer Sehwag has been announced. This team also includes many young players, Rannav Bugga is the vice-captain. The tournament will be played from October 8 in Visakhapatnam. Now all eyes will be on Aryaveer Sehwag.


Performance of Indian Under 19 team


Aryaveer represented the Indian Under-19 team in the three-match ODI series against the Australia Under-19 team. Although he got the team off to a good start, he couldn't make any big innings. He looked in good form during the series, but failed to put up big scores. He scored 28 runs in the first match in the presence of Virender Sehwag. He scored 47 runs in the second match, but missed his half-century. He then contributed 34 runs in the third match.


Aryaveer also has experience of playing senior cricket. He represented West Delhi Lions in the Delhi Premier League. He got to play only two matches and scored a combined 24 runs in both matches, but he got a chance to share the dressing room with the senior players. Aryaveer recently said that he wants to make it big in cricket. He doesn't feel the pressure of being Virender Sehwag's son. He plays his usual game.
