**Essential Repeat:**



Students who were declared 'Essential Repeat' in the results of previous board exams by CBSE are eligible to apply for the private board exams. The 'Essential Repeat' category implies that the student must retake the examination for all subjects.



Compartment – ​​Students who were placed in the 'compartment' category in a subject during previous main or compartment board exams are eligible to apply for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 private board exams.



Improvement of Performance – Students who have already passed the board exams but wish to improve their marks or percentage can appear for the private board exams.



Additional Subject Exam – Students who have passed the board exams can appear for the private board exams to take an examination in an additional subject.



Failed Students – Students who previously failed can also apply for the private board exams; however, there is a prescribed timeframe—specifically, for the 2027 private board exams, only those who failed between the years 2021 and 2026 are eligible to apply.
