Mumbai: When RJ Mahvash spoke about a man who allegedly cheated on his pregnant wife, she was recalling an engagement from when she was 19. Months later, an Instagram post has paired that clip with a photograph of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his former wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma. That pairing has left fans asking whether Mahvash was talking about their marriage.

What did RJ Mahvash actually say?

In her interview with Pinkvilla, Mahvash said her former fiancé had cheated on her three times. She went on to describe what happened to him years later. According to Mahvash, he married another woman, was unfaithful to her during her pregnancy and eventually got divorced.

“Oh God, jis chiz se upper vala apko bachata hai, this man got divorced because he cheated on his pregnant wife. Ones a Cheater always a cheater and nothing can change that,” she said.

The internet is now assuming that she was talking about Chahal.

What Chahal shared about life after divorce

Chahal and Dhanashree’s divorce was finalised in March 2025. In October this year, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra asked Chahal on his Baith & Bol podcast what made him give up alcohol. Chahal said he had started drinking socially during his early IPL years and that his drinking became harder to manage after the divorce.

The turning point, he recalled, came after a stint in county cricket. Worried about what continued drinking could mean for his career, Chahal checked himself into rehab and stayed for 26 days. He said seeking help made a difference to his personal life and helped him focus on cricket again.
