Semolina – 1 cup
Urad dal- 1 tablespoon
Finely chopped onion – 1/4 cup
Mustard – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves- 8-10
Green chilli – 2
Carrot chopped – 1
Tomato chopped – 1
Peas – 1 tbsp
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander – 1 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp



– To make tasty and healthy Rava Upma, first put Rava (semolina) in a pan and dry it while stirring on medium flame.
– After frying for 4-5 minutes, the rava will turn light pink, after this turn off the gas and take out the rava in a big bowl and keep it aside.
Now put 2 tablespoons oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. – After the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and let it fry.
Now add urad dal, curry leaves and green chillies and fry for a few seconds.
Then add finely chopped onion, carrot, tomato and peas and fry till the color of onion turns light brown while stirring occasionally.
After this, put the fried rava in the pan and mix it. – After frying the mixture for two minutes, add 3 cups of boiling water and salt as per taste in the pan and keep stirring with a spoon.
After this, cover the pan and let the upma rise for 4-5 minutes. Keep adding similes in between.
After this, remove the lid and add lemon juice and sugar and mix. Cook the upma for one more minute and then turn off the gas.
Now put the prepared upma in a glass bowl and take it out in a plate. After this, garnish the Rava Upma with green coriander.
Delicious Rava Upma is ready for breakfast.
