NEW DELHI: The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University has chosen to eliminate its daily schedule’s half-hour lunch break, which was scheduled to run from 12:30 to 1 pm. It is increasingly required of students to manage their lunches during the short breaks between sessions. Several of them are furious over the decision.

According to the institution, the action was taken to comply with National Education Policy 2020.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Nagawat, vice chancellor, stated: “Taking a break at the same time just invites crowds and problems.” We have reached this conclusion after considering a number of factors. Students may now create their own timetables and take separate breaks in accordance with their needs. “We’re doing this to make the best use of our classrooms as well,” he said.

The VC said that the choice would not have an impact on the workload of the instructors.

“We have instructed all campus directors to create and implement a schedule that allows them to take a break between classes if desired,” he said.

Nagawat clarified, however, that the decision had not yet been made. “On Tuesday, I’ve scheduled a meeting with every campus director.”
