Recently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced at an event that the recruitment process for these posts will start soon. Currently, the recruitment process for more than 60,000 constable posts is already underway, with the written exam being completed. Candidates who pass the exam will soon be called for a physical test. More than 50 lakh applicants had applied for these posts, however, more than 6 lakh candidates opted out of the exam. Interestingly, the applications were not limited to residents of UP only, as candidates from other states also applied for these constable posts.

While the ongoing recruitment process for UP Police constables is still going on, CM Yogi Adityanath has announced an additional 40,000 job opportunities, bringing positive news for those who either missed the current recruitment exam or were not selected. They will get another chance to apply in the next six months. During an event at Lok Bhavan, the Chief Minister said that perhaps this is the first time that a police recruitment exam of such a large scale has been conducted smoothly anywhere in the world. He further said that the upcoming recruitment drive for 40,000 posts in UP Police will start within the next six months. He also praised the implementation of the Prevention of Unfair Means in Public Examinations Act-2024, which has helped ensure transparency in the recruitment process.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for UP Police Constable posts, candidates must have passed class 12th, and their age should be between 18 to 25 years. Age relaxation is provided for candidates from reserved categories. Another notable thing is that candidates from any state of India are eligible to apply for these posts; being a resident of Uttar Pradesh is not a must.
