• After this water should be offered to Lord Sun.


• First offer the food of Nahay Khay to Sun God and only then consume it.


• On the day of Nahay Khay, prepare only satvik food. One should not eat onion and garlic on this day.


• There is a tradition of eating pumpkin vegetable, gourd, gram dal and bhaat (rice).


• The fasting person should be the first to eat the food prepared on the day of Nahay Khay. Only after this other members of the family eat.
