New initiatives are being taken to deal with serious threats to schools in Delhi like fake bomb threats and cyber crimes. Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has directed Delhi Police to provide training to school teachers and students to deal with these issues. Incidents related to fake bomb threats and cyber crime have increased the concern regarding security, on which the Lieutenant Governor has taken a strict stance.
The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has directed the Police Commissioner to give special training to teachers and students in schools to deal with fake bomb threats. He stressed that instead of panicking, such incidents need to be dealt with in a precise and peaceful manner. Emphasizing the importance of this training, the LG said that it will help teachers and students to respond quickly and accurately in emergency situations.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed the need to pay attention to the growing threats like fake bomb threats as well as cyber crime and cyber bullying. He instructed Delhi Police to teach measures to protect students and teachers from these. Under cyber crime, children and teachers will not only be taught to identify online threats, but will also be told ways to avoid them and stay safe.
LG VK Saxena has directed the Police Commissioner to submit a report on the steps taken in this direction within 15 days. He said that awareness and preparedness are extremely important to deal with issues like cyber crime, bullying and fake threats. The aim of this training is not only to make the students and teachers safe, but also to make the entire school community alert and aware.
During an interactive session with principals and teachers of private schools in Delhi, he expressed concern over fake bomb threats, cyber bullying and other online threats. Teachers shared their problems and experiences on these issues, after which LG took this decision. It was felt in the session that proper training and awareness is extremely necessary to deal with these threats in the present times.
Apart from this, students will also be trained for self-defense. This training will not only help keep them physically safe, but will also make them mentally strong. The Lieutenant Governor said that such steps will provide a safe environment to schools in future and ensure the overall safety of the students. This initiative is being seen as a serious attitude of the Delhi government towards security.
