Want to try a new drink this winter holiday that is not cocoa or hot chocolate? Apart from mulled wine, the drink that is popular is Hot Dr Pepper and this is now going viral after a netizen shared her recipe of Hot Dr Peppers as a hot drink.

Hot Dr Pepper has been popular since 1970 in the US and the drink which was one of the favourites of the millennials has now created a new fan base with Gen Z and according to their demands, the customisation and personalisation of the drink has been amplified.

Hot Dr Pepper is a basic soda that is served with ice, however, now a new recipe for it as the hottest hot drink of the festive season is doing rounds on social media after a TikTokker shared it.

Sharing the video, the person said that the soda was on a whole another level when consumed hot. She also recommended that heating Dr Pepper was one of the good choices she made.

How to heat Hot Dr Pepper?

The soda should be heated by simmering and it should not be boiled. Adding a fresh lemon slice will give a perfect taste. Calling it a lazy way, the TikTokker said that Dr Pepper can be heated in the microwave mug as well.

While many called it disgusting initially, over the last 2 weeks, the drink gained momentum among the netizens and many in fact tried it out and called it delicious. The Tiktokker explained that the spices of Dr Pepper really work well as a hot drink. She captioned it "Also delicious served steaming hot."

Commenting on her post, one user said, "I knew a guy in college who had a hot pot in his dorm room just to make this. All these years I thought he was uniquely weird!”

Another said, "I quite like it myself. Heating it seems to make it taste more like the almondy-amaretto-spicy side as opposed to just being sweet and fizzy.”

One comment read, "Let's bring it back. Hot Dr. Pepper. Maybe for the adults, you can enjoy a hot cup of holiday by adding bourbon."
