February 5, Washington, DC [USA]: ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ has finally published its much anticipated teaser, according to Deadline.

The teaser for the forthcoming movie, which is scheduled to open in theaters in July of this year, was released by Marvel Studios on Tuesday.

Fans are introduced to the Fantastic Four’s retrofuturistic setting in the teaser. As H.E.R.B.I.E. and The Thing prepare a supper, Reed Richards and Sue Storm show a visitor around their Baxter Building headquarters.

Reed and Sue have an emotional conversation about their history and future at a pivotal point in the trailer.

“Before we went up the first time,” Reed informs Sue, “you couldn’t turn invisible, Ben wasn’t a rock, and Johnny never caught fire.”

Ben has consistently been a rock. Johnny is just Johnny. And here I am. In the trailer, Sue answers, “As a family, we will face whatever life throws at us.”

Additional views include John Malkovich in an enigmatic role, clouds of fire above Manhattan, and Johnny Storm going into space without a spacesuit.

The film, which was shot abroad from July to November 2024, is set in an alternative 1960s. In addition, Paul Walter-Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, Sarah Niles, and Julia Garner play Shalla-Bal (a spin on Silver Surfer).

Ric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer wrote the screenplay, while Matt Shakman (WandaVision) is the director. Marvel Studios is being produced by Kevin Feige.
