“Rice” is a major grain used as major food items in India and other countries. It is a type of grain crop, which is obtained from “paddy”. Rice is used in a variety of dishes, such as casserole, biryani, khichdi, dal rice, etc.. There are different types in the chawal, including basmati rice, steam rice, white rice, brown rice, etc. Rice is rich in nutritious elements, which contain carbohydrates, protein, and vitamins.


Ingredients:



  • 1 cup basmati rice

  • 2 cups of water (can increase water according to rice)

  • 1 teaspoon of ghee

  • 1 pinch of salt (optional)

Method of preparation:




  1. Wash rice: First, wash the basmati rice thoroughly and leave it to soak in water for 15-20 minutes. This makes the rice cook well and does not disintegrate.




  2. Boil water: Add 2 cups of water in a pan and add salt and ghee (if using). Let the water boil.




  3. Rice: When the water starts boiling, add soaked rice to it. Then cover the water and let it cook on medium flame for 10-12 minutes.




  4. Rice: After the rice is cooked, turn off the gas and leave the rice covered for 5 minutes. This makes rice soft and fluffy.




  5. Serve rice: Now rice is ready. You can serve it with lentils, curry or any vegetable.




Tips:



  • If you want aromatic rice, you can add a cardamom or a stick.

  • If you want more taste, you can increase the amount of ghee.
