February 5, Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India]: As they got ready for the first ODI in a three-match series against England in Nagpur, star Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli unleashed a variety of strokes in nets.

Two contemporary greats were seen practicing in the nets and showcasing a range of strokes, including some fan favorites, in a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

India’s most successful modern-day stars, ‘Ro-Ko’ (Rohit and Virat Kohli), had a terrible 2024–25 Test season. Virat amassed an absurd 382 runs in 10 games and 19 innings at an average of 22.87, with just a century and fifty apiece, whereas Rohit only managed 164 runs in eight games and 15 innings at an average of 10.93 with a top score of 52.

During his recent comeback to the Ranji Trophy against Jammu and Kashmir, Rohit too only managed to score three and twenty-eight points. In his first Ranji game in twelve years, Virat too fell short against Railways, managing only six runs before Himanshu Sangwan sent his stump reeling.

Virat finished the previous season with a century and two fifties, but just 655 international runs in 23 games and 32 innings at an average of 21.83. His highest rating was 100*.

However, Rohit performed well in white-ball cricket. He concluded the 2024 calendar year as the captain of the T20 World Cup, scoring 378 runs in 11 games with a strike rate of 160.16 and an average of 42.00. Among his feats were three half-centuries and a century, with a peak score of 121. With 257 runs in eight games at an average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.70, including three half-centuries, Rohit was India’s leading scorer and the second-highest run-getter in the T20 World Cup.

Last year, Rohit only participated in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), all of which were against Sri Lanka. He amassed 157 runs at an average of 52.33 and a remarkable strike rate of 141.44, including two half-centuries and a high score of 64.

Also, Virat’s excellence in ODIs is well acknowledged. He has amassed 1,435 runs at an average of 65.22 in 30 ODIs since the 2023 start, with six hundreds and eight fifties. 166* is his greatest score. He has a 98.42 strike rate. With 765 runs in 11 games at an average of 95.62, three games, and six fifties, he won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, which he led in both tournament and all-time rankings. He only managed to score 58 runs in three innings at the Sri Lanka ODIs last year, with a top score of 24.
