In his 18 -year -long career, the batting all -rounder Mahmadullah, who has already removed Bangladesh with all three times in all three formats, has announced his retirement from international cricket. Mahmadullah, who completed 39 years last month, took this decision after the team's very disappointing performance in the Champions Trophy. He retired from Tests in 2021 and T20 in 2024. Now with leaving ODI, he has completely separated from international cricket.
Announcing his retirement on his Facebook page, Mahmadullah wrote, 'I have decided to retire from international cricket. I want to thank all my colleagues, coaches and especially my fans who have always supported me. Thank you very much to my parents, my in-laws, especially my father-in-law and most important my brother Imdad Ullah, who has been with me as my coach and guide since childhood. Finally, I also thank my wife and children.
Mahmadullah started his international career in 2007. He played all three formats and established himself as an excellent batting all -rounder. In the 50 Tests, 5689 runs and 43 wickets in 239 ODIs scoring 5689 runs and 82 wickets, scoring 8 fifties in 141 T20s, 2443 runs and 41 wickets in the 50 Tests scoring 43 wickets and 32 half -centuries in 239 ODIs. Mahmdullah is the fourth top scorer in Bangladesh in ODIs.
