CM Nitish Kumar gives strong priority to women empowerment

Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, during the inauguration of the livelihood fair organized in Daulatpur of Hajipur block, said that CM Nitish Kumar thinks that only economically empowered women can lay the foundation of a strong rural economy. Under this thinking, a separate banking system is being developed for Jeevika Didis at every Panchayat level.

Banking facility in every Panchayat, provision of loan up to Rs 10 lakh

Under the scheme, women associated with Jeevika group will initially be able to take a loan of up to Rs 2 lakh, which will later be increased to Rs 10 lakh. Under the guidance of CM Nitish Kumar, it is being ensured that women do not have to wander here and there for loans and they get all the facilities at the Panchayat level itself.

Self-employment will get new strength

The aim of the government is that women’s dreams should not remain unfulfilled due to lack of capital. Through Jeevika Bank, women will be able to progress easily in sectors like dairy, agro-based industries, tailoring, food processing and small business. Easy banking process will give new impetus to entrepreneurship among rural women.

Jeevika Yojana changed the lives of millions of women

Jeevika Yojana, which started with the visionary thinking of CM Nitish Kumar, is today included among the most successful women empowerment schemes of Bihar. This scheme, once started with the help of the World Bank for poverty alleviation, has today become the identity of the state. At present, about 1 crore 40 lakh Jeevika Didis are actively engaged in self-employment in Bihar.

From small beginnings to big dreams

The Rural Development Minister said that Jeevika Didis were initially given an assistance of Rs 10,000, due to which they started working on a small scale. Today the same women are in a position to build big businesses. With the establishment of Jeevika Bank, this progress will be further accelerated, as timely and adequate financial assistance will be available.

Rural economy will get a new base

This initiative of CM Nitish Kumar will create new employment opportunities in villages, reduce migration and strengthen local markets. The government believes that when village women become economically empowered, it will have a positive impact on the entire society. Jeevika Bank is not just a loan system, but a powerful concept of rural development, in which women will be the main axis of development.

New picture of changing Bihar

According to the Rural Development Department, this initiative can change the picture of the villages of Bihar in the coming times. With the availability of banking facilities and big loans at the Panchayat level, Jeevika Didis will establish themselves not only as beneficiaries but also as strong entrepreneurs.
