Tylor Chase, the once fresh-faced teen star, has since spoken out after being found homeless living on the streets of Los Angeles in a heartbreaking video shared online. The 36-year-old, who played Martin Qwerly on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide in the 2000s, appeared dishevelled in the clip filmed in September.

He was once an actor on Nickelodeon, having appeared in a number of film and TV titles in the early to mid-2000s. Tylor would appear throughout all three seasons of its Ned's Declassified run on the children's TV network as a recurring character. He also starred in Everybody Hates Chris and Good Time Max with James Franco.

After footage of the unrecognisable star circulated online this weekend, he has since spoken out. Recent photos show the former teen actor roaming the streets of Riverside, California, picking up cigarette butts.

"It's not too shabby," Tylor told the Daily Mail on Monday.

He added: "Life always gets better, keep your head up."

Tylor went on to share that he has been receiving a lot of help as he discussed being homless.

"It's not really like that, I have friends and family. I stay around here locally. My mom is here," he said. "I have a lot of good people helping me."

Devon Werkheiser, who is best known for playing Ned Bigby on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, has since reacted to the news about his co-star now sleeping rough.

He described Tylor as a lovely boy on set during their Nickelodeon days. Devon told TMZ: "Tylor was a sensitive, sweet, and kind kid. It is heartbreaking to see him this way."

The actor admitted that he has not been in contact with Tylor for almost two decades, but added that the situation has demonstrated how complex struggles with addiction and mental health can be.

Authorities in Riverside, California, where Tylor was filmed in September, confirmed that the former actor has been experiencing homelessness but said the exact length of time that has been going on for is unclear.

Arizona-born Tylor got his big break aged 15 on the Nickelodeon as the brainy, fast-talking Martin Qwerly. He appeared in all three of the show's seasons from 2004 to 2007.

He headed to Georgia to live with his father and in 2014 began posting videos of his poetry readings on YouTube.

He eventually moved to Riverside where his mother resides.
