Bareilly. Another big step is being taken towards strengthening road connectivity in Uttar Pradesh. Plans for construction of bypass and ring roads for Bareilly and surrounding districts have gained momentum. With the completion of these projects, while the transportation system will become easier, business, industry and the general public will also get huge benefits.
New bypass to be built on Bareilly-Mathura National Highway
About four kilometer long bypass will be constructed on the Bareilly-Mathura National Highway in the limits of Bareilly city. This will reduce the traffic pressure inside the city and will provide direct access to outside vehicles. Apart from this, the construction work of five kilometer long bypass between Devchara and Bhamora has also started, which is expected to provide relief to the local people from the problem of traffic jam.
Rapid work on 29 kilometer long ring road
There is also momentum regarding the proposed 29 kilometer long ring road from Jhumka Tirahe to Rajau in Bareilly. For this, land is to be acquired in a total of 32 villages, out of which this process has been completed in 29 villages. In the remaining three villages also, more than 50 percent land has been acquired.
According to NHAI Project Director Ashwani Chauhan, the executing company has prepared the site and started leveling the land at many places. This ambitious Ring Road project will cost around Rs 995 crore.
Ring road will be equipped with modern facilities
Two flyovers, three interchanges and 10 approach roads will be built on the Ring Road. For this, the work of cutting trees has also been started. This ring road will connect major highways like Delhi-Lucknow, Bareilly-Nainital, Bareilly-Pilibhit and Bareilly-Sitarganj, which will make transportation even easier.
15 day block on Chaupula bridge
Meanwhile, NHAI has prepared to take a block of 15 days for the repair of Chaupula bridge. During this period, the movement of heavy vehicles on the bridge will be completely closed. Diversion permission has been sought from the administration, after which the repair work will be started.
Bareilly-Badayun section also booming
In the fourth phase of Bareilly-Mathura National Highway, construction work has been expedited between Bareilly and Badaun. According to NHAI Project Director Utkarsh Shukla, felling of trees in this part has been completed and bypass construction will start in Bareilly by the end of January. The bypass work on this six-lane highway between Maheshpura and Karagaina in the city limits will also be started soon. The target is to complete the project before the year 2027.
