Kathmandu: American seam bowler Isani Waghela has been suspended from bowling in international cricket after the ICC Event Panel confirmed that she used an illegal bowling action. According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, the decision was taken following a report by match officials after Vaghela was spotted during the USA’s match against Ireland in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2026 being held in Nepal.
According to the ICC, the event panel reviewed match footage of Vaghela’s bowling action in the next match and concluded that it did not comply with the rules governing bowling actions. As a result, he has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect under Article 6.7 of the ICC Rules. This suspension will last until Vaghela gets his bowling action re-evaluated and is allowed to bowl without any illegal actions. During the suspension, as per ICC rules, Vaghela will be allowed to continue playing as a batsman, provided he does not bowl.
