Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets in the final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. DC had set a huge target of 204 runs, which RCB chased by losing 4 wickets in 19.4 overs. For RCB, captain Smriti Mandhana scored 87 runs in 41 balls, while Georgia Wall scored 79 runs in 54 balls.

Both of them made RCB’s run chase easy by making a partnership of 165 runs for the second wicket. Although after the dismissal of these two, the match seemed a bit stuck but Radha Yadav scored unbeaten 13 runs in 5 balls and took RCB to the threshold of victory.

Had Radha been hit wicket?

RCB had to score 10 runs in the last over. Radha took a run on the first ball. Nadine de Klerk took a single on the second ball also. Now RCB needed 8 runs in 4 balls. Radha then hit a four over the covers against left arm spinner Shri Charani.

Radha made space on the next ball too and cleared the cover fielder with her back foot and gave RCB a memorable win with a four. However, for some time there was confusion as to whether Radha had hit the wicket or not, because when she took the shot, it was seen that the wickets on the stumps had disintegrated.

What was the truth?

As soon as Radha hit a four on the fourth ball of the last over, the RCB team went into celebration. However, some players in his camp were not sure whether the team had won or not, as the wickets were seen falling down. Later, replays revealed that the wickets had scattered from the gloves of DC keeper Liezel Lee and it was not Radha’s fault.

After the match, RCB’s Shreyanka Patil also told that when the team’s head coach Malolan Rangarajan confirmed, she came to know that Radha had not hit the wicket.

Playing XI of both the teams:

RCB – Smriti Mandhana (captain), Grace Harris, Georgia Wall, Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper), Nadine de Klerk, Radha Yadav, Pooja Vastrakar, Shreyanka Patil, Sayali Satghare, Arundhati Reddy, Lauren Bell
